IS this Australia's next world surfing champ? Ulladulla teen Kipp Caddy shocked some of the sport's best surfers when he took to huge surf at a notorious break off Sydney.
The 14-year-old's dad Brett used a jet ski to tow him on to the gnarly 3m waves at Cape Solander, near Port Botany, last week.
He was wiped out on his first wave, snapping his surfboard in four places, and his second attempt resulted in another broken board.
Big wave surfer Richie Vaculik volunteered his own board to the grommet -- who went on to snag almost a dozen waves.
The Year 8 student began surfing four years ago and has already attracted a host of sponsors including surfing giant Rip Curl.
"I was nervous to begin with but I just stuck to my training," he said.
"I just try and surf as many different waves and breaks as I can to get better. I try to relax when I'm under the wave."
